Welcome to Crochet Connie and Snowball!
We're a mother and daughter who love to crochet. Mom - Connie - learned to crochet at age 9 and has been crocheting for almost 30 years now. Daughter Snowball - not my real name, duh!- learned from her mom at age 9 (no, not a coincidence) and has been at it for almost four years. Future goal: fashion designer.
Here we hope to post about our crochet related experiences - projects, UFO's, shopping for yarn, and the occasional pattern and tutorial!
What are we working on now? Snowball is crocheting a baby blanket for a friend's cousin, and is selling her scrunchies for charity. She's also making a hat for mom.
Connie is in the middle of a tank top and a headband, and hopes to finish a messenger bag soon. It's the lining that's holding that one up - boy, I hate sewing!
Snowball's Baby Blanket Pattern
Here is a very easy and very pretty pattern.
Materials:
3 colors worsted weight yarn about 8 ozs. each
Q hook
Holding 1 strand of each color yarn, ch 51.
R1-50: Sc in each st across, ch 1 turn
At end of row 50 do not ch 1 or turn.
Here you can either finish off and add a fringe, or I like to add a shell stitch border as follows:
Ch1, sc in same st, (sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st) around the edge, joining in first sc.

Atta girl - you have the makings of a designer. Homemade gifts are the best. This is a lifelong, useful hobby. You'll love it - I guess you already do!
